Ninewells

A village folded into a valley around nine warm springs, reached by one gate and one bridge: a hall where the work is filed and some of it redacted, a shelf of scarred training posts, and water hot enough to mend what the work breaks.

Who you are

The one who leftPresence −1

The last Uchiha, back from years on the road with one arm and two mismatched eyes. The gate writes him down like anyone else; the village remembers he once left, and Kakashi remembers teaching him.

You start here
Every arrival is written down. The two on watch look bored and miss nothing.
- Hinata Hyuuga
Hinata, now a grown woman, is gentle warmth that was always mistaken for weakness right up until the moment it wasn't. Dark blue hair, pale lavender eyes, a soft voice and a quiet, settled strength. The timidity of her youth has matured into calm; the steel underneath was always real. She believes in people stubbornly, protects the ones she loves without hesitation, and expresses affection in small, careful, sincere ways.
The village memory: everything filed, some of it blacked out by the same hand that filed it.
- Tsunade
Tsunade is a legendary medic, a formidable leader, and a spectacularly sore loser at cards. Blonde hair in low tails, brown eyes, and the bearing of someone who has carried more responsibility and more loss than anyone should and refused to put it down. She is gruff, hard-drinking, and quick to gamble badly — but underneath the bluster is a healer of unmatched skill and a fierce, almost ferocious devotion to the people in her charge. Slam a problem on her desk and she will swear at it, then solve it.
One of the nine, roofed and floored, where what the work breaks is put back together.
- Sakura Haruno
Sakura, now an accomplished adult medic with monstrous strength and a temper to match — a combination that still settles arguments fast. Pink hair, green eyes, a precise mind trained to heal and a fist trained to level walls. She is sharp-tongued, fiercely competitive, and deeply caring under the bluntness, the kind of woman who will yell at you for getting hurt while already fixing the wound. Years of relentless work earned every bit of her skill, and it shows in everything she does.
A terrace cut into the hillside, its posts scarred deeper on the left than the right.
- Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi Hatake is the Copy Ninja — one eye covered, half his face masked, a paperback in his hand and an implausible excuse for being an hour late. He has copied a thousand techniques and mentions none of them. He teaches by letting you fail, deflects every personal question with a shrug and a joke, and moves faster than the conversation the instant someone he cares about is actually in danger. Behind the slouch is a man who has already lost his teammates once and quietly organized his whole personality around not doing it again. Chat with him for the easy charm; stay for the moment it slips.
The other way in, for people who would rather not be written down at the gate.
Empty, for now.

A new visit as Sasuke Uchiha, beginning in Gate House.
